Songtsen Library's Second International Conference March 2007
From the 6th to 8th March 2007, thirteen Scholars and nineteen observers were present during the conference. The subject of discussion was " Central Asian Studies and the Early History of Tibet". Scholars came from France, Italy, USA, India and from the Tibetan Community in India.

The Celebration of the 60th Birthday of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche and the third Anniversary of Songtsen Library August 2006

On August 1 st His Holiness Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche was sixty years old.
One year back, Venerable Yen Rinpoche of the Glorious Jewel Buddhist Center of Taiwan expressed his wish to bring 530 of his disciples to celebrate His Holiness's 60 th birthday and celebrate the Third Anniversary of Songtsen Library in Dehra Dun . Disciples from Drikung Kagyu Monasteries in and out of the country had also expressed their wish to offer a Long Life Prayer for His Holiness, therefore it was arranged to celebrate this occasion on the 1 st and 2 nd of August 2006.

3rd Himalayan Environment Conservation Workshop December 2005
The Library organized it's third workshop on the conservation of Himalayan environment from the 28th to 30th December 2005. The workshop was formally inaugurated by the chief guest, His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinponche, and guest of honor Dr. Raghunandan Singh Tolia, Chief Information Commissioner and Dr. Bhagat Singh Barfal, Head and Principal Chief Conservation Forest, Uttaranchal Government. They lighted a lamp for the success of the workshop. In the opening speech, his Holiness emphasized on the importance of every individual's contribution for the goal of conservation of the environment.

2nd Himalayan Environment Conservation Workshop October 2004
Songtsen Library organized its first workshop on the critical issue of "Himalayan Environment Conservation". The participants were students from Bhutan, Nepal and various Himalayan States of India as well as students from the Tibetan community who are studying at Delhi and Punjab University.

Library Education Program July 2003

The first three month 'Intensive Language' course program that begun on 18th October 2004 successfully concluded on 18th January 2005. The study curriculum (mentioned in our previous newsletter) was focused on improving Tibetan colloquial skills as well as developing students' proficiency in Tibetan Grammar. The course started with 5 international students and the number increased by 7 by the end of the course.

Songtsen Library's First International Conference March 2003
From 29th March to 2nd April 2003, a Tibetan Language and Literature Conference was held at Songtsen Library. Sixteen Tibetan language scholars from all over India and abroad including 60 observers, Tibetan teachers from different Tibetan schools, monasteries and nunneries participated in this conference.

Inauguration of Songtsen Library March 2003
March 6th 2003 was the day Songtsen Library was inaugurated by His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama. It was a memorable day. Over one thousand people had gathered at the Library from many different countries in the world.
